Maker's Mark 46 is a Kentucky straight bourbon in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 47%. It follows the recipe of Bill Samuels Jr., son of the founders Bill and Margie, and was the first major new expression after the original Maker's Mark appeared in 1958.
The bourbon is aged longer with seared French oak staves, which give it its layered character.
The nose is toasty French oak with caramel and baking spices. The palate is mildly sweet, with vanilla and baking spice, and the finish is velvety and pleasingly long.
