Maker's Mark is a Kentucky bourbon aged in charred white oak barrels only. The charring of the oak releases the natural sugars of the wood into the bourbon. Some whisky is lost to evaporation and absorption in the barrel during ageing. It is described as full-flavoured yet very easy to drink, with a mellow taste.
