Malt Riot Glasgow Vat No.6 Blended Malt (70cl, 40%)

Malt Riot Vat No.6 is a blended malt that combines Glasgow 1770 The Original with five different Speyside single malts. It contains single malts only, with no grain whisky, and is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The name recalls the Scottish malt tax protests of 1725, when people in Glasgow barricaded malt stores and drove out tax collectors. The Glasgow Distillery released Malt Riot in June 2020 as a tribute to that resistance. The nose is freshly planed oak, then sweet vanilla pastry, with a touch of hyacinth. On the palate come toffee apples, dry spice and caramelised pineapple. The finish is light and soft, with milk chocolate, fruit and nuts.
