This is a Clynelish 20 Year Old from Maltbarn, distilled in 2000 and bottled in 2020 at 54.6% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It matured in bourbon and sherry casks, and 100 bottles were filled. Granville is the independent bottlers' code name for Clynelish, taken from George Granville Leveson-Gower, who founded the original distillery in 1819.
The nose shows sherry, dried herbs, vanilla, wild berries, apple, lemon, sweet pastries and sea salt, with toffee and sweet peanuts later. The palate is tart and sweet-and-sour, with bacon, pepper, salted caramel, dried fruit and a little wax. The finish is long, with bacon, pepper, oak, lemon peel and wax.
