Mannochmore – 12 Years Flora & Fauna

This is a 12 year old single malt from Mannochmore, bottled in the Flora & Fauna series. It is described as the distillery's delicate, fragrant entry into that range. The nose combines butter, sweet grass, a touch of Parma violet, honeysuckle and toffee. On the palate it is sweet and buttery, with a hint of young spirit, before dark wood and spice come through. The finish is of medium length, with some prickly spice and more butter, and sweet wood as it fades. It is an oily malt, with more astringency than the nose suggests.
