Mars Iwai 'Tradition' Sherry Cask Finish (70cl, 40%)

This is a Japanese blended whisky from Iwai, bearing the Mars name and finished in sherry casks. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Mars Shinshu, the Hombo family's distillery, stands at just over 2,600 feet in Miyada village in southern Nagano Prefecture, where the cool temperatures slow maturation. The nose is sweet and syrupy, with mellow oak from the sherry casks. The palate is thick in texture, with honey and the very sweet taste of Pedro Ximenez. The finish moves from sweet oak to a soft, elegant sweetness.
