Mars Komagatake 2015 Single Cask #3225 is a Japanese single malt matured in a single first-fill bourbon barrel. The barrel was filled in 2015 and opened in 2021, and the whisky was bottled at a cask strength of 63% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
Komagatake is the name Mars uses for its single malts, and the Shinshu distillery in the Nagano Prefecture is where they are made.
On the palate it is bright and driven by fruit, with plum, apricot, green apple and a touch of smoke, alongside barley sugar, vanilla, marzipan, tarte tatin and tobacco leaf.
