A Japanese single malt from the Shinshu Mars Distillery in Nagano, the Komagatake Limited Edition 2020 was distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2020 at 50% ABV. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured in a combination of Sherry casks and American white oak casks, and the two show in the glass. Dried fruits come from the Sherry, vanilla and oak from the American oak.
On the palate, sweet fruit meets oak spice, with dark chocolate, dried fruit, vanilla and caramel. The finish holds oak tannins and a gentle Sherry sweetness.
