Mars Komagatake Double Cellars is a Japanese single malt at 46% abv, in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled at the Mars Shinshu Distillery, and some of the whisky was then sent to mature at the Mars Tsunuki Distillery, so the bottling draws on both. It was bottled in 2018 and is the first Mars single malt of that year.
The nose offers honey, treacle, dried pears, apricot jam, orange peel and a little earthy peat. On the palate there is nutmeg, salt and pepper spice with cocoa, vanilla, almond flakes and lemon meringue. The finish is nutmeg and almond flakes, with lingering cashew nuts.
