Mars Komagatake Double Cellars is a Japanese single malt at 46% in a 700ml bottle. It was distilled at the Mars Shinshu Distillery, and part of the whisky was then matured at the Mars Tsunuki Distillery, which gives the name. It was bottled in 2018 as the first Mars single malt of that year.
The nose runs from honey, treacle and apricot jam to orange peel, earthy peat and charred twigs. The palate is spicy with nutmeg, salt and pepper, alongside cocoa, vanilla and almond. The finish carries nutmeg and lingering cashew.
