Mars Komagatake Single Cask 2013 Bourbon Barrel #1653 Heavily Peated (70cl, 60%)

This is a heavily peated single cask single malt from the Komagatake range of Mars Shinshu, a Japanese distillery. It is dated 2013 and was matured in a bourbon barrel, cask number 1653. It is bottled at 60% ABV in a 70cl bottle and carries no age statement. Mars Shinshu sits between the northern and southern Japanese Alps at 798 metres, which makes it the highest whisky distillery in Japan. The Hombo family have been distilling for more than a century.
