Mars Komagatake Tsunuki Aging 2020 is a Japanese single malt bottled at 54% ABV. It was made at the Mars Shinshu distillery, which stands 800 metres above sea level in a region with a harsh climate, and then taken to Kagoshima to mature naturally in bourbon barrels for roughly three years.
The whisky is described as lemony, peaty, spicy and sweet all at once, with a gold colour.
On the nose there is a little peat, lemon peel and candied fruit. The palate is very soft, with sweet fruit, spicy notes and fresh citrus, leading to a long, fruity and smoky finish.
