Mars Shinshu – Asagi Madara 8 Year Old 2020 Limited Release (70cl, 48%)

This is an 8 year old Japanese blended malt from Mars Shinshu, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited edition released in 2020 to mark the rebuilding and expansion of the distillery, completed in September 2020, 35 years after it was established. The name comes from the Asagi madara butterfly on the label, which is usually seen around September in Miyada Village, where the distillery stands. The whisky is described as refreshing, with notes reminiscent of the Shinshu forest and wildflowers.
