Mars The Y.A. #1 is a Japanese blended malt from the Mars Shinshu Distillery, one of the highest-altitude whisky distilleries in Japan, founded in 1949. It is bottled at 52% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and with no added colour.
The nose is fresh and grainy, with soft fruit and a restrained spiciness. The palate is full-bodied, balancing malty sweetness with light herbal spice and fine honey. The finish is long and warm, with a peppery note.
