Mars The Y.A. #3 (70cl, 51%)

The Y.A. #3 is a Japanese blended malt from Mars, bringing together whisky from its two distilleries, Komagatake and Tsunuki. It is bottled at 51% ABV in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. The name stands for Yakushima Aging: the casks are matured on the island of Yakushima, where heavy rain, salty sea air and marked temperature swings shape the whisky. The nose is dominated by bright, zesty citrus. On the palate that fresh fruit meets a subtle minerality reminiscent of a salty sea breeze, in a full, harmonious texture. The finish has elegant depth.
