Mars Tsunuki 2023 Edition is a Japanese single malt from the Tsunuki distillery in Kagoshima, bottled at 50% ABV and released in 2023. It is the fourth release in the Tsunuki series and the second in the yearly edition line. The spirit was matured in a variety of oak casks, mostly bourbon barrels, and carries mild sherry and peat notes. The nose offers marmalade, loquat, honey and pancake sweetness with a faint, pleasant peat. The palate is heavily malty with a hint of lemon-peel freshness and a pleasant lingering bitterness, and the finish turns to full-bodied sweetness.
