This is a single cask Japanese single malt from Mars Tsunuki, distilled on 19 December 2016 and aged for four years in a second-fill bourbon barrel. It was bottled in 2020 at 60% ABV, and the cask gave 204 bottles of 70cl.
The Tsunuki distillery stands in Kagoshima prefecture, on the southern tip of the island of Kyushu, and began distilling on 27 October 2016. Mars is a Japanese whisky brand of Hombo Shuzo.
It is described as bursting with fresh fruit and a strong herbaceous freshness, enough to recall the Scottish Lowlands.
