This is a single cask Mars Tsunuki whisky from the New Vibrations series, a Japanese single malt distilled in 2018 and bottled in 2023 at a cask strength of 60% ABV. It was matured in a sherry hogshead, number T738, and filled 239 bottles of 70cl. The spirit was aged in the stone warehouse at Mars Tsunuki distillery in Kagoshima.
Peat and smoke run through the notes: oily peat, diesel and seaweed on the nose, dense smoke with plum, damson, vanilla and chocolate on the palate, and a long finish with chocolatey bitterness and liquorice.
