Mars Tsunuki Peated 2020 (70cl, 50%)

Mars Tsunuki Peated 2020 is a Japanese single malt from the Shinshu distillery, bottled at 50% and the distillery's second release. The distillery sits 798 metres above sea level, and its whisky matures in American white oak casks in cool mountain air. High humidity and cold winters give the whisky its maritime character, and the distillery uses clear mountain spring water. The nose is maritime, fruity and lightly smoky. On the palate it is harmonious, with sweet honey, barley, fresh apples and smoke. The finish is long, with a smoky fruit note.
