Villa Gemma is a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva DOC from Masciarelli, an Abruzzo winery founded in 1978 by Gianni Masciarelli. This is the 2019 vintage, intense ruby in the glass.
The nose is complex, with cherry and blackberry jam, vanilla, leather and bitter chocolate. On the palate it is elegant and balanced, with a firm, substantial body, fresh and savoury, with warmth and rustic tannin. It finishes in harmony on spicy notes.
It suits red meat dishes, game, traditional cured meats and mature cheeses.
