Masthouse (Copper Rivet) 2017 (59.7%)

A 2017 single malt from the Copper Rivet distillery, bottled at 59.7% for Berry Bros. & Rudd. Copper Rivet began production in 2016 in an old pumphouse in Medway, Kent, and is known for a fruity new-make style. The distillery grew from the Russell family's enthusiasm for their home county and the fermentation and distilling knowledge of head distiller Abhi Banik. The nose balances fresh tropical fruit with American oak, with melon, tinned pineapple and buttered popcorn. The palate carries on with more tropical fruit and woody coconut over a rich texture, then fresh fruit and light spice.
