Matt D'Arcy's 10 Year Old Port Finish (70cl, 46%)

Matt D'Arcy's 10 Year Old Port Finish is a blended Irish whiskey, made from ten-year-old grain whiskey and 17-year-old Irish single malt. Both parts matured first in bourbon casks. After blending, the whiskey spent further time in port casks. It is bottled at 46% without chill-filtering or added colour. It was the first blended Irish whiskey released by the revived Matt D'Arcy brand in more than a century. The company began in Newry, County Down, in 1817, and Michael McKeown brought the name back in 2020. The nose combines citrus with jammy fruit sweetness, vanilla, dark dried fruit and a little spice. On the palate, sweet spiced dried fruit leads, with barley sugar, malt, vanilla and fine oak. The finish is long and spicy.
