Merlet Coperies French Single Malt Whisky

Merlet Coperies is a French single malt whisky made at the family-owned Merlet & Fils distillery in Charente-Maritime, a house that has long made cognac, fruit liqueurs and Pineau des Charentes. It is distilled twice in copper Charentais stills, the method used for cognac. Maturation is in French oak, a mix of new casks and casks that previously held cognac. The nose is discreet vanilla, a touch of caramel and ripe fruit. The palate is soft and round, floral and fruity with light spice. The finish is mild and lightly sweet, with a subtle note of wood.
