Metaxa 7 Star is a Greek spirit made from double pot-distilled brandy, Muscat wine and Mediterranean botanicals. The base is distilled from Savatiano, Sultanina and Black Corinth grapes and aged for at least seven years in French Limousin oak.
The aged distillate is then blended with Muscat wines from Samos and infused with herbs and May rose petals. The blend rests together in oak for a further year before bottling.
The nose shows ripe peach, dried apricot, orange blossom and violet with a touch of cinnamon. The palate is soft and moderately sweet, with marmalade, honey, prune, vanilla and coffee, and the finish is medium-long, with woody spice and a floral echo of rose.
