Metté Marc d'Alsace Gewurztraminer Vendanges Tardives 1993 (50cl, 45%)

This is a marc from the Metté distillery, made from the pomace of late harvest Gewurztraminer from the 1993 vintage. The pomace is naturally fermented, then distilled twice in copper stills and bottled at 45% vol in a 50cl bottle. The spirit is distilled at the estate. It rests for at least ten years in stainless steel tanks before bottling. Serve it as a digestif at 13°C in a tulip glass. The nose is intense and complex, with hazelnut, apple and cardamom. The palate is fruity and elegant, with marked notes of marc, green apple and cinnamon, leading to a persistent, spicy finish.
