Couvreur's Clearach is a single malt from Michel Couvreur, the French house based in Burgundy, bottled at 43%. Its name comes from the Scots word for cleansing, and the whisky has a clear, crystalline colour. Michel Couvreur is known for maturing Scotch whisky in sherry casks, kept in damp cellars away from the light. The nose is green fruit, lemon and mint, followed by vanilla and oak. The palate brings citrus, juicy pear and delicate honey with floral and spicy notes. The finish is fresh and clean, with subtle fruit and fresh herbs.
