Michel Couvreur Overaged Natural Strength is a malt whisky bottled at 52% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The distillate is Scottish, but it matures in sherry oak casks in the rock cellars of Bouze-lès-Beaune in Burgundy. Because maturation takes place in France, it cannot be called Scotch whisky. Michel Couvreur was a Belgian wine and spirits merchant who, from the 1970s, put the cask at the centre of his whisky. It is described as having dried fruit, spicy oak, leather and a light note of smoke.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
