Michel Couvreur Overaged (1.5L, 52%)

Overaged is a 52% whisky from Michel Couvreur, the Burgundy-based maker known for its method of ageing whisky in sherry casks. It comes in a 150cl bottle. The house matured Scotch whisky in damp cellars sheltered from the light, and this expression is described as going beyond the usual bounds of maturation. The nose offers ripe fruit, caramel, vanilla and spiced oak. On the palate come figs, honey, cocoa and warm spices with a velvety texture, followed by a long, warm finish of sweet fruit and spiced oak.
