A 1.5 litre magnum of Michel Couvreur Unpeated Overaged, bottled in June 2026 at 49.5% ABV. It is made from Scottish malt whisky matured in sherry oak casks in the rock cellars of Bouze-lès-Beaune in Burgundy. Because it matures in France, it cannot be called Scotch whisky. This edition is made without peat smoke. Michel Couvreur was a Belgian wine and spirits merchant who developed his approach to whisky in Burgundy, and he put maturation and the choice of casks ahead of the distillery of origin. It is described as showing dark fruit, creamy sweetness, fine herbs and spicy oak.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
