Upper Cap is a 15 year old blended whisky from Michel Couvreur, in a 70cl bottle at 47%. It is built from two Scottish distillates: a larger share of grain whisky from 2007 and a smaller share of lightly peated malt from 2010. The grain whisky gives a soft base, while the malt adds depth and a gentle smokiness that is meant to support the other flavours rather than dominate. Maturation took place in the damp rock cellars at Bouze-lès-Beaune in Burgundy, in sherry casks. Old Pedro Ximénez casks give a sweet depth, and fresh sherry casks are used alongside them.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
