Michter's US*1 Unblended American Whiskey is made in Louisville, Kentucky. Unlike bourbon or rye, which must be matured in new oak, it is matured in casks that have previously held whiskey, which gives a rich flavour without sharp wood notes. It is also unblended, which is uncommon among American whiskeys.
The nose has roasted nuts, vanilla and caramel with a touch of oak and toast. The palate is creamy and full, with toffee, butterscotch, dried fruit and cinnamon. The finish is long and warming, with soft spice and a little smoke.
