Midleton – Barry Crockett Legacy Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey (46%)

This is a single pot still Irish whiskey from Midleton in County Cork, bottled at 46%. It was matured predominantly in American oak. The whiskey pairs tropical and orchard fruit with polished oak and the spice of the pot still. The nose offers American oak, cinnamon cereals, pepper and allspice, followed by overripe tropical fruit such as mango, custard apple and brown banana, with caramel, treacle and a fresh green apple lift. On the palate, caramel, treacle, malt and ripe fruit sit over a spicy backbone, with vanilla and cinnamon. The finish is very long, with banoffee pie, dried fruit and oak.
