Midleton Dair Ghaelach Kylebeg Tree No. 5 is a single pot still Irish whiskey in a 75cl bottle, bottled at 56% ABV (112 proof). Dair Ghaelach means Irish oak.
The whiskey is finished in casks made from virgin Irish oak grown in Kylebeg Wood, on the Ballykilcavan Estate near Stradbally in Co. Laois.
The nose offers cinnamon, nutmeg, aromatic oils and earthy pot still notes, with nectarine, white pepper, dairy fudge and vanilla. On the palate the pot still spices lead, followed by caramel, stewed apple, orange peel, dark chocolate and honeycomb. The finish is long, with the Irish oak lingering to the end.
