Millstone 100 Single Rye 6 Year Old 2016 (70cl, 50%)

Millstone 100 Single Rye is a Dutch rye whisky from Zuidam Distillers, made from a mash of 49% malted and 51% unmalted rye and distilled in small copper pot stills. It was distilled in 2016 and matured for six years in new American oak before being bottled in 2022 at 50%, which equals 100 proof. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. The new oak adds vanilla and oak notes to a fruity, spicy character. The nose combines citrus and spice with fine honey, vanilla and oak. The palate is rich and fruity, with honey sweetness and gentle spice. The long finish is led by pepper, with vanilla and spicy oak lingering.
