This is a six-year-old Dutch single malt from Millstone, made at the family-run Zuidam Distillery and released as No. 7 in the Dutch Tulip Collection. It was distilled on 10 April 2020 from heavily peated malted barley and matured in two first-fill Sauternes wine hogsheads. It is bottled at 53.1% without chill-filtration, and 587 bottles were filled.
Dense peat smoke on the nose is wrapped in dried apricot and liquid honey. The palate is full, with buttery brown sugar, a fine salty edge, cinnamon and fresh orange zest. The finish is long and dry, with cold ash and earthy notes.
