Millstone 7 Year Old Vintage 2019 Unpeated Dutch Windmills Collection No. 5 1st Fill Banyuls Wine Hogsheads (53.2%)

A seven-year-old Dutch single malt from the Zuidam distillery, distilled in March 2019 from malted barley. It is unpeated and was released as part of the Dutch Windmills Collection No. 5. The whisky matured in two first-fill Banyuls wine hogsheads, casks that previously held the sweet French wine. It was bottled at a cask strength of 53.2%, unfiltered and with its natural mahogany colour, in an outturn of 571 bottles. The nose offers ripe cherries, plums and orange marmalade over soft honey. The palate is creamy, with dark chocolate and caramel alongside cinnamon and cardamom, and the finish is long.
