This is a Dutch single malt from Zuidam Distillers, made from peated malted barley and bottled at 46% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It was matured in first- and second-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.
The sweetness of the Pedro Ximénez casks is set against a gentle peat smoke, with raisins, chocolate, malt and warming spice running through it.
The nose combines dried fruit and raisins with vanilla, toasted oak and light peat smoke. On the palate it is rich and rounded, with raisins, dark chocolate and malt sweetness alongside soft smoke and spice. The finish is long and warming, with chocolate, dried fruit and peat smoke.
