Millstone Peated PX is a Dutch single malt from the family-owned Zuidam Distillers, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle without chill filtering.
It is made from heavily peated malt, at 50 PPM, and matured entirely in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.
The nose offers peat smoke, raisins, plums and dried fruit, with chocolate, liquorice and gentle spice. On the palate, sweet PX sherry and smoke sit in balance, with dark chocolate, orange peel, raisins and spice, and the peat is soft and well integrated. The finish is long and warming, with pure chocolate, dark fruit and a restrained smokiness.
