This is a 10 year old Speyside single malt from Mortlach, bottled at natural cask strength by Decadent Drinks as the fourth release in its Notable Age Statements series, in a 70cl bottle. The spirit was filled into refill hogsheads in 2012, then consolidated and re-racked into a first fill sherry butt. The result is a dense, heavily sherried Mortlach with the distillery's muscle and meatiness, alongside coffee, bitter chocolate and dark fruits. The nose offers dark chocolate, date cake, black tea and burnt herbs. The palate is dry, spicy and long, and the finish is long and calm.
