Refill bourbon hogshead
This is a 12 year old Speyside single malt from Mortlach, distilled in 2009 and bottled by Douglas Laing in its Old Particular range. It comes from a single refill bourbon hogshead and was drawn as one of 331 bottles, in a 70cl bottle. Mortlach is known for a muscular, meaty style, put down to its 2.81 distillation and its worm tub condensers. This bottling has not been coloured or chill-filtered, and it has no sherry influence. On the nose, coconut gives way to charred oak and a buttery barley richness. The palate is oily yet creamy, with allspice and freshly baked bread. The finish is long, with marmalade, vanilla cream and more barley.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
