Mortlach – 16 Years Distiller's Dram (70cl, 43.4%)

Mortlach 16 Years Distiller's Dram is a Speyside single malt bottled at 43.4% in a 70cl bottle. It recalls the first 16-year-old Mortlach, released in 1992, and is matured entirely in Spanish sherry casks. Reddish amber in colour, it has a robust, complex nose of dark garden fruits, earthiness and spice, including nutmeg and clove. The palate is full and textured, with a light leathery spice and notes of orange, apricot and honey, both sweet and savoury. The finish is long and complex, with a surprising sweetness.
