Mortlach – 2022 Special Release (70cl, 57.8%)

Mortlach 2022 Special Release is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Speyside distillery in Dufftown, bottled at a natural cask strength of 57.8% in a 70cl bottle. It was finished in a combination of tawny port, red muscat and virgin oak casks, which deepen its amber colour. Mortlach's spirit is shaped by partial triple distillation, clear wort and minimal copper contact, giving a heavy, meaty character. The nose is described as rich wine and sweet grape entwined with that meatiness, while the label speaks of dark, sweet ruby richness with a depth of ginger.
