Mortlach 21 Year Old is a cask strength single malt Scotch whisky from the 2020 Special Release, in a 700ml bottle. It was matured in small batches and then finished in Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso-seasoned casks. The release comprises 7,692 bottles.
Mortlach is known as the Beast of Dufftown for its robust, meaty character.
The nose is deep with dark dried fruits and savoury, meaty notes. The palate is very smooth, sweet with rich fruit and cured ham, building to a lingering spicy dryness. The finish is long, balancing sweetness and spice before leaving the palate dry.
