Mortlach 16 Year Old is a single malt from Speyside, matured only in Sherry casks. It was inspired by the first Mortlach bottling in 1992, and the distillery is known as The Beast of Dufftown.
Mortlach was established in 1823 and was the first legal distillery in Dufftown. George Cowie and his son Dr Alexander Mitchell Cowie pioneered its '2.81 distillation' process.
The whisky has an earthy aroma, with rich apricot and honey and a light, leathery spiciness.
