Mortlach 21 Year Old Special Release 2020 is a Speyside single malt in a limited edition of 7,692 bottles, at 56.9% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 1999 and bottled in 2020, after maturation in casks that previously held Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry.
Its balanced, spicy character is attributed to the casks and to Speyside.
The nose is sweet and spicy, with dried fruit and a hint of citrus. The palate brings fresh orange, dark chocolate, black pepper and apple, and the finish is long and fruity.
