Mortlach 25 Year Old is a single malt matured for twenty-five years in a combination of American and European oak casks, in a 50cl bottle.
Mortlach is known for a longer, slower distillation that its makers call The Way. The colour is a deep, bright amber.
The nose brings ripe plums, raisins and baked apple with honey, brown sugar, cinnamon, clove and ginger. The palate is silky, with dried fruit, caramel, dark chocolate and nuts, and a slight tannic bitterness. The finish is long and warm, with ripe fruit, chocolate and spice.
