Mortlach Special Release 2023, named The Katana's Edge, is a single malt in a 70cl bottle at 58% abv.
It was matured in a combination of former Kanosuke casks from Hioki, Japan, and former Pinot Noir casks. The Kanosuke casks previously held shochu, and the Pinot Noir adds deep, fruity notes.
Diageo, which owns Mortlach, has recently invested in Kanosuke.
