Become is a single malt from Mortlach, made as a collaboration between the distillery and Philippe Starck for the L'Evolution Collection. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 55.4% ABV.
The whisky was matured in a combination of virgin oak, red wine and refill casks, which gives sweetness, spice and a peppery punch. It is a bold expression with real power on the palate.
The nose is a sticky fruit loaf with sultanas and dates, over a dry, heavy note. The palate is smooth in texture, spicy and sweet, and a drop of water softens it. The finish is long, peppery and punchy.
Tasting Notes
