This is a 10 year old single malt from Linkwood, bottled independently by Mossburn Distillers as part of the Vintage Casks range. The whisky was laid down to mature in 2007 and bottled in 2017 at 46% ABV, in a 75cl bottle.
Linkwood stands on the outskirts of Elgin and makes a light, delicate Speyside whisky. Here refill barrels kept the oak to a spicy backnote.
The nose is of white flowers with hints of lemongrass and white pepper. On the palate there is crystallised fruit and barley sugar, with a lightly honeyed citrus note throughout.
