A 12 year old Highland single malt made for the 50th anniversary of Motörhead, the band Lemmy Kilmister founded in June 1975. It is bottled at a cask strength of 58%, without chill-filtration or added colour.
The whisky was matured in American bourbon barrels, with sherry casks also adding influence, and is made from heavily peated barley. The edition is numbered, with 1,500 bottles in total.
Peat smoke and leather lead the nose, with vanilla and caramelised oak. On the palate, sooty smoke meets dark chocolate and spicy oak, with sherry notes and sweet toffee. The long, smoky finish carries soft caramel and ripe apricot.
